There are two ways to use Rust Sidebar in IE. Both harder than compared to Opera and Firefox. You may choose to use the one you wish.
Install as sidebar: To install Rust Sidebar as sidebar on Internet Explorer 7, you must first enable the security setting in IE by going to: "Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced" and enable the "Enable websites to use search pane" option.
Now you can Click here to open Rust Sidebar. Unfortunately with this method, you will always have to come back to this page to open the sidebar.
Install Rust as bookmark: You can also play RuneScape with Rust on the side by using a simple framed page. Here is how to do it:
- Go to the page: http://rithiur.anthd.com/rust/frame.html.
- Bookmark it to your bookmarsk.
- Whenever you want to play RuneScape with Rust open, just use that bookmark.
Installing Rust as Search provider: If you wish to install Rust as search provider in your Internet Explorer 7, simply click the following link: Install IE search provider
For quick install on Firefox: Install Rust Sidebar for Firefox. Choose "Rust Sidebar" from your bookmarks to start using it.
If you prefer to install Rust Sidbar manually to your toolbars for whatever reason, you can just follow these simple and easy instructions:
- Go the page http://rithiur.anthd.com/rust/rust.php.
- Add the page to your bookmarks.
- On bookmarks menu, right click the bookmark and select "Properties".
- In options panel check the "Load this bookmark in the sidebar" option.
- Click on the bookmark in the bookmarks, and it will open as sidebar!
Use Rust as Quicksearch: To Install rust as quicksearch in Firefox, simply bookmark the url http://rithiur.anthd.com/rust/rust.php?name=%s in your bookmarks, and then add "rs" as the keyword. Now, when you write "rs zezima" in the address bar, you will be sent to stats page.
Install Rust as Search provider: If you wish to install Rust as a search provider to your Firefox browser, simply click this link: Install Firefox Search Provider
For quick install on Opera: Install Rust Sidebar for Opera. Now open sidebar using F4.
If you prefer manual and slow way of installing, just follow these simple and straightforward isntructions:
- Go the page http://rithiur.anthd.com/rust/rust.php.
- Select "Bookmark page..." from the "Bookmarks" menu.
- When adding the bookmark, check the "Show in panel" box
- Open the panel and you'll see Rust in there!
Use Rust as Quicksearch: For Opera 9 users, Installing Rust as quick search is simple. Open Preferences and go to "Search" tab. Click "Add.." button there. As name insert "Rust", for keyword use "rs" and as the url set: "http://rithiur.anthd.com/rust/rust.php?name=%s". Now, when you type "rs zezima" in the address bar, it will take you to the stats page.
Only the Major three browsers are officially supported by Rust in the ways mentioned above. This doesn't mean you can't use Rust in your own browser if you want to. Feel free to either bookmark the frame mentioned in the IE installation instructions or add the rust page as sidebar, if your browser supports that. However, other browsers are beyond the scope of this page.
